As It Grows- My Stop Motion!

So After about 30 or so hours of working on this it's finally done!!!!

I wrote the story as a dedication to Logan. The assignment was to do a stop motion with the theme "Love Conquers All" I want this to show that I will always love him, no matter what season, and no matter how much time passes, he will always be my love and my best friend.

Enjoy

(I would highly recommend going to YouTube to watch it and changing the settings to 720 HD. It looks better :) if not enjoy anyways)

I love how it turned out. I wish I would have used a tripod so it didn't have the "earthquake effect" but other than that everything worked beautifully. I made all the people and props by hand and everything else was from my backyard. Thanks to Lauren for helping me with it all. I would have taken way longer without her. I hope Logan gets to see this sometime, and I hope you like the story.

Detox Reflections

Ok I got some good stuff to share from my Detox. (see my first Detox Post about a week ago)

First Off... I lost 4 Pounds!!! yay! only 8 more to go until my goal. That seems like an obtainable goal to me. My goal is to have lost it by Thanksgiving.
Second... I have lots more energy and used this detox as a jump start for a better and healthier Becca. It opened my eyes to how much difference a healthy body feels.

Basically here is how it went. From Sunday until Thursday I ate absolutely nothing but Fruits, Veggies and Complete whole grains (like oats). I was planning to go until Saturday, but halloween parties may have gotten in the way of those plans. Holidays have a special place in my heart when it comes to food, so yeah. I did moderate myself pretty well, I only had a little bit of candy and a few desserts over Halloween Weekend. That is good with me. In my opinion, cutting out sweets never works, but moderation is glorious.

Alright now for the "What I've Learned" and "Becca's Advice" Section.
My philosophy in Dieting (Lifestyle Changing... whatever) is to only do it if it is going to make you happier in the long run. If eating only Salads for the rest of your life sounds like torture, then don't do it. Find something that is reasonable but will still push you and be effective. Healthy should be happy, not miserable.

For Example, I like to use running as a reward for my body when I'm super stressed out as a stress relief. When I am stressed, Running is the greatest thing in the entire world and I LOVE it! Most of the time though, I running is cruel and unusual torture to myself.  It was always used as a punishment in my sports growing up, so it has a negative spot in my brain. If I decided to run everyday, I might do it, but I don't think I'd be happy and it would be more of a chore than a stress relief
... However, I LOVE doing hip hop dance and team sports any day, any time, just throw me some moves!! So that is how I work out. I do things that will make me happy. Don't feel pressure to run just because that's what is "the norm" for a cardio workout and everyone tells you its the only way to lose weight. NEWS FLASH...It's not! There are hundreds to choose from so find your niche, mix it up, and make it fun. Like I spent all Halloween rocking the Wii game "Just Dance" That's cardio and fun!

Also when it comes to food, It's not practical to sit and eat veggies every day, every meal. There is great food in the world and great food should be shared. Just know limits and moderation in all things and follow the advice of your happy little "My Fitness Pal App!!" *This is my product endorsement right here.* This is the smartest tool in the entire planet for being healthy. Download it!! It's free on Android and iPhone and if you don't have one of those... use the website (also free.) So you have no excuses now muwahaha.

Ok well Basically the Detox was good. I didn't mind eating fruits and veggies I actually enjoyed it for a week. Especially because I bought a whole bunch of Pomegranates and Green Peppers! YUM! I learned that healthy foods are just as tasty as unhealthy foods :)

Now I'm working toward the rest of my 8 pounds by spending time at the gym more, I joined a volley ball team and just being smart when I shop for groceries, implementing more natural foods into my diet and less junk, plus drinking lots of water. I added more whole grains back in and also healthy proteins (salmon, tuna and eggs)

Life is Precious
So Enjoy!

Wonka Exceptionals Chocolate Ad Campaign

Here's my Latest Ad Campaign I made. We got to choose any brand and I chose Wonka Chocolates because I love them and they are yummy and also Wonka Brand is super fun and imaginative...kinda like me, so it fit.

I hope you Enjoy :)

There is also an out of home ad I came up with where there would be a traveling circus that would go around to various cities and put on a "giant Flea Circus" type of idea with a ring master announcing invisible tricks. There would be lots of Fun Wonka Games and of course... Lots of chocolate and fun displays.

DeToxification- Intro and Days 1-2 (no not from drugs lol)

Intro: I've decided to do a detox diet type thing. I need to get all the junk out of my life, physically, mentally and spiritually. I'm not doing it to lose weight, I've just felt really sick and fatigued lately. I also have been getting headaches really bad. I just want to be a healthier human being with lots of energy. Maybe I'll get a rockin' body at the same time.

Today is the second day and already I am noticing that I feel a little better (disclaimer: this could all be in my head)  Hopefully I'll be really good at keeping blog of this and updating so that maybe if others want to detox, they can learn from my mistakes or successes. I plan on doing this for about a week with only fruits and veggies, then slowly implementing in protein and then dairy over a month span. Here is my plans and such:

Physical Diet: For the first week I've narrowed down my food to 3 things. Fruits, Vegetables, and Whole Grain (High Fiber, Low Sugar). Just so I also get a little bit of protein, I've also added nuts in. I eat 2 spoonfuls of all natural crushed almond a day usually. Eventually I'll start to add in fish (mainly Alaskan salmon) next week, then dairy in 2 weeks.

Here is my source of which foods I will eat
And here is my list of foods not to eat.

Also as for exercise I plan to divide my week.
2 days doing 60 minutes of brisk walking
2 days Yoga,
2 days intense cardio,
1 day of weight training.
This isn't exact.. depending on my mood of working out I might switch it out and do more weights or whatever, as long as I exercise every day.

Spiritually: My goal for the spiritual "Detox" (if that's what you wanna call it) is to really change my focus from myself to others. I want to do at least 1 service project a week. I also want to try really good at saying my prayers and spend 20 minutes in the scriptures daily, maybe listen to some conference talks during my exercise.

Mentally: This is a huge one. I am trying to limit my non-homework computer time (facebook, pinterest, games etc) to only an hour a day. This also includes TV. I don't like the feeling of wasting away precious life in front of a screen. My other goal is to reach out and study art and culture and beautiful things in the world. I want to go to museums, art shows, performances, guest speakers on campus... really anything that enlarges the mind. Last but not least... I am hoping to read the entire Narnia Series and also a bunch of other books. I just love books.

Well... Those are my plans.. now here is how the execution is going.

Day 1: To start out I did a 24 hour fast. This was mostly for the spiritual detox that I so badly needed, but apparently it has great affects on the body as well. The last hour of my fast I drank tons and tons of water. This way the food all got out of my system and the water helped clean everything out. It helped kind of get a fresh start for my body, cleaning out everything and giving my organs a rest.

Fasting also helped me so great in focusing my spiritual and mental health. A religion professor of mine told me that most of the time our spirit listens to everything our body tells it. When we are hungry, we eat. When we are sleepy, we go to bed. When we're thirsty, we get water. When our  body wants something the spirit usually says yes. This puts our body at a higher importance. Fasting is like taking that spiritual half and letting the body know that the spirit is in charge. It's like saying, "body, I'm not going to hurt you (although you might think so) but I'm making you go hungry in order to gain things greater than food. I just thought that was a really neat way of putting it.

Here is a website on all the healthful benefits of fasting. I do not endorse everything said, but they seem to have done tons of research (much more than I will ever do) so there you go.

Day 2: Alright so day two... my first day implementing food. I went shopping for all kinds of good stuff and so far I'm doing pretty well... but I can always do better

Here is my grocery list:
Green Peppers. Salad. Broccoli. Tomatoes. Fresh Salsa. Carrots. Cucumber
Apples. Mandarin Oranges. Grapefruit. Pomegranate. Cranberries.
Lots and Lots of Water
Whole grain oatmeal and Granola

So yup. That is that. Already I'm feeling better. I'm trying to eat small meals throughout the day and drink as much water as I can. Todays exercise was the walking. I walked around campus twice, then back to my apartment and then back to campus to the library and back. So it was good. At the library I got my Narnia books. Life is going in good directions.

Well that's all for the first few days. I'll try and keep this updated.

Disclaimer: I am not a doctor or an expert at dieting. What I'm doing doesn't guarantee results... it's just something I thought I might try.

The Pros and Cons of "E- Textbooks"

There is a really cool "whiteboard" feature on my Biology online textbook where you can draw and circle stuff then erase it all. After studying for 7 hours strait, it can becomes quite the distraction....

Creating Creations...

So lately my Photoshop has been put to work with all my new classes and assignments, along with my boredom and desire to create stuff. :) So here's what I've been up to lately...

Here's some of my work from the last month :)
Enjoy this gigantic helping of Becca SOup!

First: This is a 5 piece Photography Series that I did. I wanted to really capture elements of the old world slowly fading away into our new world. (if you want to enlarge pictures just click on them.)

Second: Here is a Logo I created for my mom's Wedding Flower Business.
These Next two are Ads I made for Wite Out. They are both magazine ads. The second one is a blank page with a bottle of wite out as if the whole advertisement had been "Wited Out. "

This one is an Ad I made for a jeweler. The assignment was to find a terrible ad in a Magazine and made it better. I wish I had the original "bad ad" to show you the improvements.

These next three Advertisements are for an Eating Disorder Awareness Campaign. These are some of my most favorite work. I love how they turned out and I think they get the message across.

So I've kinda had this Pinterest Addiction lately... One of my most favoritest things to pin is quotes. Except I get tired of everybody posting the same quotes over and over and I also get sick of really great quotes with really terrible graphic design. So in my free time, I find quotes that I like and graphic design them and then pin them to my boards. It makes me feel super happy when they get repinned too :)

This Justin Bieber song is ALWAYS stuck in my head. I had to make a poster from it.

This one is actually some of the lyrics from a song that I wrote for Logan.

Taylor Swift Lyrics..

Welll that's all!!! Much love ♥
